2002 Cowley Cookbook

Mix together:
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup Crisco
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup molasses
2 eggs
Mix together, then combine with the above mixture:
4 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp soda
2 1/4 tsp ginger
1 1/2 tsp cloves
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Make into 1 1/2" balls, then dip balls into granulated sugar. Place on cookie sheet about 2" apart. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Do not over bake. Makes approximately 3 dozen cookies.

One Dish Lasagna

1-30 oz Western Family Spaghetti Sauce with Mushrooms
1-27 oz Hunts Chunky Tomato, Garlic & Onion Spaghetti Sauce
uncooked lasagna noodles (apx 10)
1 1/2 lb very lean hamburger (uncooked)
1/2 cup chopped onion
12 oz cottage cheese
10 slices American cheese
8 oz Mozzarella cheese
1 1/2 cup hot water
Parmesan cheese
Great deep, large 10x14" pan. Mix sauces in separate pan. Spread 1/3 of sauce in bottom of pan, then layer of noodles, half of onions, all cottage cheese, 1/3 of sauce, half hamburger, layer of noodles, American cheese slices, remainder of hamburger, rest of onion, all mozzarella cheese and last 1/3 of sauce.
Pour on hot water and sprinkle liberally with Parmesan cheese. Cover and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees; uncover and bake 45 minutes. Allow to stand 15 minutes before serving.
