3 eggs
2 cups guar
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp soda
1 cup lard or 1 1/4 cups shortening
1 cup coconut (optional)
lemon or vanilla flavoring
About 6 cups flour, to make soft dough
Mix and chill dough. Roll out on floured surface and cut in desired shapes. Bake at 400 degrees until lightly brown around bottom edges. This makes a soft cookie.

Moon Cake

"I found this recipe in a farm paper. It's like a giant, flat cream puff."
Mix 1 cup water and 1/2 cup margarine. Bring to a boil. Add 1 cup flour all at once and stir rapidly until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat and cool a little while, then bean in 4 eggs, one at a time, beating well. Spread on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes. Let cool.
Mix 2 small boxes of vanilla custard pudding. Beat in an 8 ounce package of cream cheese and blend well. Spread over crust and refrigerate for 20 minutes. Top with Cool Whip. Drizzle chocolate topping over the top and then sprinkle with chopped nuts. Keep refrigerated.

1 stick butter

1/4 cup powdered sugar

Pour into freezer tray. Freeze 45 minutes or until mixture is froze one-half inch around edges of tray.
Meanwhile, prepare topping.
Beat gelatin mixture until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Fold in topping and pour into freezer trays or bowl and freeze 30 minutes. Empty mixture into a chilled mixing bowl and beat until smooth, but not melted. Can leave mixture in bowl or put back into freezer trays. Freeze until firm, at least 3-4 hours.
I prefer my freezer. It seems to make it smoother.

Mix together until crumbly. Press half of this mixture into a greased square pan.
Cover with 4-5 cups diced rhubarb.
Combine and cook until thick and clear, then pour over rhubarb:
1 cup sugar
2 T cornstarch
1 cup water
1 tsp vanilla
Top with remaining crumbly mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve warm, plain or with whipped or ice cream.

Alice Welling's Raisin Crisscross Cookies

Mix together:
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
Stir in:
1 egg
1 tsp milk
1 t. lemon extract
Sift together and add:
1 3/4 cup flour
3/4 tsp cream of tartar
3/4 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
Stir in 1/2 cup coarsely ground raisins.
Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Put on baking sheet. Flatten with fork in crisscross pattern. Bake 8 minutes at 400 degrees.

1 tsp milk
1 t. lemon extract
Sift together and add:
1 3/4 cup flour
3/4 tsp cream of tartar
3/4 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
Stir in 1/2 cup coarsely ground raisins.
Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Put on baking sheet. Flatten with fork in crisscross pattern. Bake 8 minutes at 400 degrees.

Separate eggs. Combine yolks, sugar and flavoring. Stir. Beat egg whites until stiff. Stir egg yolk mixture into whites. Pour into icre cream freezer. Finish filling to the mark with milks.

Turtle Cake

Melt 14 oz bag of caramels plus 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Be careful not to scorch. Set aside.
Mix together 1 German Chocolate cake mix, 3/4 cup butter, 1/3 cup milk and 1 cup chopped pecans. Mix well and put 1/2 of the batter into a 9x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle 12 oz. bag chocolate chips over cake dough and top with melted caramels. Crumble rest of dough on top.
Bake at 350 degrees for an additional 25 minutes.

2 1/4 cups flour

2 cups carrots
8 oz. crushed pineapple
2 cups coconut
1 cup chopped nuts
Combine oil, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and salt. Blend well. Add eggs. Add flour, soda and pineapple. With large spoon, fold in coconut, carrots and nuts. Blend well. Pour into 9x13" greaesd and floured pan. Bake 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees.
Icing:
Combine in small bowl 6 oz cream cheese, 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, and 1/4 lb soft butter or margarine. Beat well. Spread on cake. Can be garnished with nuts and coconut if desired.
